In March, 1994, the Gladney Center for Adoption's first internationally adopted child came home to the United States from Shanghai, China. Since that time, Gladney has placed nearly 1000 healthy infants and toddlers, and children of all ages with special needs, with families living in the United States. Over the past several years, adoption from China has emerged as an effective way to make or grow a family.

China Center for Adoption Affairs (CCAA) visit New York
The Gladney Center for Adoption was excited to host a meeting of CCAA members on April 13th. Mr. Lu Ying, Director-General of CCAA lead a group of CCAA officials who visited New York from April 12th -15th. He and his colleagues were primarily in New York City during their visit to meet with the New York-based Council of Accreditation (COA). COA is the sole national accrediting organization in the U.S., which is somewhat similar to China's CCAA. During his trip, Mr. Lu informally met representatives of certain adoption agencies in the area. He is excited for this opportunity to meet with some friendly colleagues and walk along the streets of New York's Upper Westside which is known as one of the most popular neighborhoods for Chinese adoptions in New York City.
