10th Anniversary Jiangsu Reunion!!!

One of the moms, Donna, writes:

These wonderful Jiangsu girls recently celebrated their 10th anniversary of their adoption during an overnight stay at the Westchester Marriott. The families travelled in China together and have regularly had reunions. During this special reunion, the girls swam, enjoyed an Habichi dinner and enjoyed some wild tween fun. The parents enjoyed watching the girls celebrating while reminiscing about the days of traveling together and sharing the girls' accomplishments and tips of parenting tweens. Needless to say, a splendid time was had by all.

Gladney Helps "Chinese Cultural Day" in Albany

Gongzhan & Gladney Make Magic at Albany’s Chinese Culture Day!

Thanks to the efforts of Gongzhan Wu from Gladney’s NYC office, we had some spectacular entertainers at our Families with Children from Asia group’s annual Chinese Culture Day, held on April 21st in Albany, NY. Mr. Wu arranged for three award-winning performers to travel to Albany from New York City, and they taught workshops and also performed.

Ms. Qian Ma taught three dance workshops – she was so patient with all of the children, and had even the three-year-old girls carefully holding their fingers “just so” and gracefully moving their arms like little birds! The magician, Ms. Yang, while speaking very little English, had everyone gasping and laughing with her amazing magic tricks! She taught two workshops during the day. And Mr. Alex Teang wowed everyone with his dynamic gongfu demonstrations and workshops. The older girls in our group were especially impressed – it certainly helped that he is very attractive! The three performers were escorted by Ms. Amy Wang, former TV news anchor of SinoVision.

In addition to teaching workshops, the performers put on a wonderful show to end our day’s events. Ms. Ma and Mr. Teang each performed two routines, and Ms. Yang did some neat magic tricks, complete with audience participation! We have heard so many compliments from families who said that this was the best culture day ever and how much they enjoyed the NYC performers.

Thank you, Gongzhan, for finding these treasures for us.

Lauren and LiLi Celebrate Easter With Family Traditions!!!

Here are a few Easter pictures from the our family in Texas. Lauren (6) and LiLi(3) had a great time waking up to their Easter baskets, spending the morning at Church learning more about Easter, coming home and hunting and coloring eggs then ending the day with hand painting a wooden egg that will be kept forever to remember their 2007 Easter. Each year we will paint a new wooden egg and add to our annual collection.

Lily has a fun pre-Easter/Birthday Celebration!!!

Mom Andrea writes: The weekend before Easter we had fun at an Easter Egg Hunt and celebrated Lily's 5th birthday at Build-A-Bear. The time has flown by so fast! I remember the day we became a family so vividly like it was yesterday! Now she's ready to start kindergarten!

Riley Has Fun At The Egg Hunt!!

I have attached a couple of photographs from this past weekend. This is my daughter, Riley Elaine, at a local Easter egg hunt. She is now 5 1/2 years old. She was adopted in August 2002 at age 10 months from Changshu CWI, Jiangsu Province. Riley is in Kindergarten and doing great. She is the joy of my life.
