In March, 1994, the Gladney Center for Adoption's first internationally adopted child came home to the United States from Shanghai, China. Since that time, Gladney has placed nearly 1000 healthy infants and toddlers, and children of all ages with special needs, with families living in the United States. Over the past several years, adoption from China has emerged as an effective way to make or grow a family.

Waiting Children from China

I am interested in older child adoption from China. I am in the initial phases and my husband seems nervous about how an older child would transition. Does anyone have any insight that would be helpful. We are interested in 7-10 year old healthy female.
Older children do come to families with their own stories and experiences and like any relationship, there is a period of transition and adjustment. Gladney will work hand in hand with you to give you the information and preparation you need for that period as well as life long access to any resource you or your family need.
